King of the North

The last exciting elections were in 2016 and YouTube had clips of Breitbart showing Trump landing in Trump Force One at hangars all across the USA and giving the same “you have the prime real estate” speech day after day and watching the MSNBC hosts going mad on live TV and YouTube had clips of Nigel Farage hectoring the European Parliament and watching all this I predicted that Brexit would happen and that Donald Trump would become president and both came true.

Today, the Makerfield by-election is very exciting and it seems so strange that no news agency like the BBC is organizing a debate pitting Labour vs. Reform vs. Restore, it would be the most interesting thing on TV for the whole of the UK to watch, because just when everyone thought that Nigel Farage as the next Prime Minister was a foregone conclusion, the Labour party finally allowed Andy Burnham to stand and if he wins the Makerfield by-election I think Andy Burnham will be the best Prime Minister that the UK has had in the last 30 years.

In 2016 people thought Nigel Farage was a rabble-rouser and then for the last ten years Farage has been patiently building UKIP/Reform’s brand and yet right now Nigel Farage is panicking because he knows that if Andy Burnham prevails in the Makerfield by-election, it is probably the end of Reform because Andy Burnham can fight Nigel Farage at his own game i.e. populism.

See the video below and the response of Andy Burnham seems 100% genuine, that he wants to champion his electorate at their time of need, it is hard for politicians to fake empathy and as the PM, Andy Burnham’s prescription of re-nationalizing all utilities and public services may work great – enough to stymie Reform!

Maybe Michael Gove’s warm praise (see below) of Andy Burnham should be taken with a grain of salt, after all Michael Gove is now a Lord but even so, the reason it rings true is that it is the same thing many other politicians have said about Andy Burnham and truly, having a PM who is willing to work across party lines maybe exactly what the UK needs !
